Homeless Ministry
"I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me..."~ Mt 25:31-46 Homeless Ministry at SMM encourages us all to take part in reaching our brothers and sisters who are estranged outside the margins of society. We are called to not only provide basic needs of survival but to uplift the human dignity of those who've been set aside, to welcome them back into the fold of Christ's Body, and sometimes, to give the simple but momentous gift of a hug. "Jesus' disciples and Christian stewards recognize God as the origin of life, giver of freedom, and source of all things. We are grateful for the gifts we have received and are eager to use them to show our love for God and for one another. We look to the life and teaching of Jesus for guidance in living as Christian stewards...Stewards of God's gifts are not passive beneficiaries. We cooperate with God in our own redemption and in the redemption of others."
